There are a couple of accredited colleges that you can study fashion at in the Miami, Florida area. Miami is always going to be a hot spot for all things trendy, and fashion is not going to be any different. It might not be a New York or Los Angeles market, but there are still plenty of opportunities for someone to study and have a career in fashion in Miami. There are also smaller schools that are not accredited that you can use to obtain certificates and associate’s degrees. Please keep in mind that some employers require that the school be accredited for potential employment.

The Art Institute Miami International University of Art and Design is about as big a school as you are going to find for fashion in the area. The school has certificates, associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and even master’s degrees available. According to the U.S. Department of Education’s statistics, there are just under 4,000 students that are attending this school. It is a private for-profit school as well. The campus is considered small, and there are about 21 students for every teacher at the school.



Another option that is a tad smaller is the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. The enrollment numbers for this school come in at about 3,200. Their student to teacher ratio is about 22 students for every teacher. They are primarily an associate’s college, but they also offer 4 year programs as well. This school is also considered to have a smaller sized campus. They also offer certificate programs for those not looking to gain a degree.

Out of the 280,880 fashion jobs that are currently in Florida, about 40,000 of those jobs are in Miami. The fashion industry has grown in Florida and shows no sign that it is going to stop growing anytime soon. The average salary of those in the fashion industry in Miami was just over $55,000 annually.
